If you have other bird taxidermy experience, you can email us photos of your work for potential acceptance. \u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis course will focus on mounting, grooming, and posing. Quail offer a different challenge than starlings and are a perfect way to continue your bird taxidermy journey. Because quail have such characteristic feather patterns and shapes, we will spend much more time at the end of the course focusing on grooming techniques and developing our eye for reading reference.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003c!-- split --\u003e Students will get a choice between California Quail or Mountain Quail, depending on what is available in top condition. Birds to be chosen on the class date in the order that you signed up. This professional taxidermy class uses only top-quality Quail specimens, tools, and supplies. \u003cmeta charset=\"utf-8\"\u003eWe will be working on legally and locally collected quail for food. Their deaths are not related to the art.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eEach student will learn proper museum-quality taxidermy techniques from two masters in their field. In this class, students will start with a \u003cstrong\u003eskinned \u0026amp; prepped\u003c\/strong\u003e Quail to eliminate time and allow us to focus on the finer points of posing and grooming. On Day 1, students will focus on wiring, body, and mounting. Day 2 will focus on posing and grooming. Prey Taxidermy will provide all supplies, tools \u0026amp; specimens for your classes. Students will be given take-home instructions, supply lists, tool lists, and resources. Students will also be given a take-home kit with grooming tweezers and a base. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis is an intensive workshop, so be prepared to \u003cspan style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"\u003ework and focus\u003c\/span\u003e daily.
