Quail - Intermediate Birds
Quail Class will be held Saturday March 25th from 10AM - 5PM.
This class is for individuals who have taken Birds 101 at Prey Taxidermy or have done bird taxidermy before. This class will also be co-taught by Tim Bovard, Master Taxidermist at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles.
What better addition to your home than an adorable Quail? These birds are wonderful for the next step in bird taxidermy with tons of character (live specimen pictured) and an adequate size. We will be offering a variety of quail: Snowflake, California and Red Quail.
Each student will start with a skinned & prepped Quail to eliminate time and allow us to focus on the finer points of positioning and grooming. Student will learn the following museum quality techniques; repairing the skin, washing, wiring, wrapping the body, mounting, positioning and grooming their own bird to take home. We will spend much time at the end of class learning grooming techniques and developing our eye with reference.
All supplies, tools & specimens will be provided and are included in the class fee.
*Please be aware of our cancellation policy; in order to get a full refund, you must cancel before 72 hours of class start time. 'Switching' classes is considered a cancelation. Additionally, if less than 50% of class is purchased 72 hours before start, class is subject to reschedule.*
